The story behind the cup ...
This is no ordinary coffee you're drinking. We've gone to enormous lengths to source the highest quality beans, all grown and traded using ethical and, ecological means then roasted to perfection, bringing out their intricate flavours.
Our Triple Certified coffee is Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and Organic certified and we can trace the three Arabicas we use in our blend directly back to the farmers who work so hard growing some of the best coffees in the world!
Honduras - La Centrale - 6000 small holding farmers feeding into the central co-operative.
Peru - Cecovasa (An acronym for co-operative) Over 1000 farmers bring their harvest to this central co-operative.
Sumatra - PP KGO based in the Gayo Highlands - Around 1600 farmers from the area all feed into this co-operative.
A little about ethical trading ...
Rainforest Alliance - Established not only to conserve biodiversity by encouraging natural growing processes and the conservation of land and wildlife, but also to ensure the sustainable livelihood of the farmers, their families and their communities by transforming land use practises, business practises and consumer behaviour.
Fairtrade - by ensuring that the farmers are guaranteed a minimum price for their crop, despite fluctuations in the world market price for coffee. Fairtrade ensures that the farmers and their communities directly benefit and have the resources to maintain the quality of the crop they are producing.
So now you can enjoy your coffee even more, secure in the knowledge that, not only are you supporting the communities where your coffee is grown but also, thanks to sustainability and the encouragement to continually improve the quality of their crop, your next coffee will be even better!
